Ericka Lassiter is the widow of former NFL defensive back Kwamie Lassiter. She is a native of Newport News, Virginia, and is a philanthropist who loves working with charitable organizations and giving back to others. From sunrise to sunset, Lassiter manages to incorporate being a devoted mother, friend, community volunteer, and entrepreneur into her daily activities. She learned at an early age from her parents that giving back to others was a must, and she finds it very rewarding. An honor graduate of Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia, Lassiter’s career path expands beyond her degree in management and computer information systems. Lassiter also works as a realtor in the Phoenix Metro area, and she has served as the president of Off the Field Players’ Wives Association since 2009, a national organization for wives of NFL players. As president, Lassiter has enjoyed bringing together women of the NFL, addressing issues related to NFL families, increasing the membership of the organization, and raising money and awareness for a cause close to the members’ hearts in their communities.
Lassiter currently resides in Chandler, Arizona, with children, Eric, Kwamie II, Kwinton, Kwincy, and her nephew Darius. She is a proud member of the Tempe Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She is the co-founder of Lassiter’s TACKLE (Teaching All Children to Kickoff Leadership in Education) Foundation and currently serves as a director with the Kwamie Lassiter Foundation, Inc. Lassiter dedicates her time to several community service organizations in the valley. Close to her heart are those that focus on families coping with sickle cell anemia, a disease that her youngest son, Kwincy, battled for sixteen years before being cured through a bone marrow transplant in 2016. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and putting smiles on the faces of others.
