Dan Daneshvar

Investigator

Dan Daneshvar is an investigator with the Football Players Health Study at Harvard University. He is also a brain injury medicine physiatrist and behavioral neuroscientist who conducts research on the long-term effects of moderate-severe traumatic brain injury, concussion, and repetitive head impacts, including chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Daneshvar’s work has been published in JAMA, Annals of Neurology, and Brain, and has been featured broadly including in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and NPR. He received his SB from MIT and completed his MD/PhD at Boston University. His graduate research resulted in the first dissertation in history to study CTE. He completed his residency at Stanford Medicine before joining the faculty at Harvard Medical School where he serves as assistant chair for research in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
