Jo Ann Pugh, known as the “50-Yard Line Mom”, is a bestselling author, mentor, and advocate for the health and wellbeing of athletes at all levels. She works tirelessly on behalf of families and aspiring professional athletes to improve health outcomes through education and reform. Pugh has held various senior-level and key leadership roles at major corporations, including Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 organizations. Her medical background as a nurse, combined with her business experience, has proved to be invaluable in helping her son Jordan navigate a career in the NFL. He is a former NFL safety who played with the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders (previously known as the Washington Redskins), and the New Orleans Saints. Pugh serves on the oversight board for the Black Men’s Brain Health (2022, 2023, and 2024) Super Bowl Conference Series at George Washington University, and has been a panelist and guest speaker at national and regional conferences and media events.
